Kuwait National Airways Company (KNA) has announced losses of KD5.9m ($20.5m) for the first half of 2009.

Kuwait Airways’ chairman and managing director has not only carried the airline through some uncontrollable conditions, like the hike in fuel prices and increasing competition in the region’s aviation industry, but notable privatisation activity and ongoing airport expansion plans at Kuwait International Airport have made for a complex 18 months.
